Project Management Institute (PMI)
Two groups work together to form PMI’s global leadership team. Our Board of Directors is a distinguished group of individuals from around the globe who bring experience, diversity, and passion in business and project management. Our members elect the Board to provide strategic direction for the Institute. Board members also serve as spokespersons and ambassadors for the Institute.
Our Executive Leadership Team oversees the implementation of the Board’s vision. They lead and manage staff across PMI regional offices to execute the activities outlined in our program plan and budget. PMI staff serve and collaborate with a global network of chapters and volunteers who dedicate their time and talents to advance the project management profession.

PMI Budapest, a local, Hungarian Chapter is an organization that is part of the Project Management Institute (PMI). The chapter was established in 2003 and it works in association legal form according to Hungarian Law . Prior to PMI chartering the chapter, local project management associations and multinational and local companies in Budapest supported the chapter for more than 1 year and helped the chapter become part of PMI.

Kira Karagits BSc
Vice President of Communications
Elected volunteer responsible for managing and coordinating communication channels in accordance with chapter policies and bylaws.
She obtained her BA degree in Communication and Media Sciences at Budapest Business School. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sociology at Eötvös Lóránd University. She has published in several peer-reviewed journals in the field of sensitive communication/negative news reporting and digital social science.

As a volunteer for the chapter, I am committed to supporting our organization in all activities, my current responsibilities include managing and organizing professional events. My commitment to the project management profession is demonstrated not only through my day-to-day responsibilities as a senior IT project manager, but also through professional education, ongoing coaching and mentoring. Elected volunteer responsible for oversight of the chapter and the board. The president shall direct the activities of the other board members in accordance with the chapter bylaws.
He is a goal-oriented, experienced business and Project, Programme and Portfolio Management professional with MBA, PMP® and CLC certifications and more than 20 years of experience in project and programme management. He was Vice President of Operations of PMI Budapest from 2012-2015 and PMI Regional Mentor from 2015-2018, supporting the work of local PMI Chapters in 11 countries. Since 2018 he is President of PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter. He is responsible for initiatives such as the PMI Budapest "Lunch and Learn" webinar series, PMI Budapest "Project Manager Mentoring Program", the introduction of PMI International Awards in Hungary, the Project Manager Salary Survey and the launch of the joint "International Project Manager" degree course between Corvinus University of Budapest and PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter. Initiator and project sponsor of the pmi.hu website renewal project and the implementation of Microsoft 365 at PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter. He teaches project management, organisational and human resource management at several universities, in Hungarian and English, in the framework of BSc, MSc and MBA courses.
