Project and Winery: We talk to Nimród Kovács about grapes, wine and the “trial and error” approach.

Business Acumen

Dear Colleague,

In 2019, PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter launched the monthly "Lunch & Learn" series of one-hour webinars, which we deliberately scheduled for lunch at the request of many, so that those who after work could not join us so far. There has been a huge interest in what has happened so far, with hundreds following our presentation. Grab a sandwich this month and join us via the internet from your computer.  Webex is provided by PMI. The webinar will be 60 minutes long and in Hungarian, you can join it on Webex. Webinar participants will be able to credit 1 PDU with the PDU request code sent to them.

This time, the Webinar is entitled "Project and Winery: We talk to Nimród Kovács about grapes, wine and the" trial and error "approach.

We invited a guest who, through his personal career, demonstrates what the real essence of a “trial and error” approach is in a project when someone starts a winery.

Our invited guest:

The Kovács Nimród Winery produces its internationally listed wines in the Grand Superior-classified Nagy-Eged, Nyilasmár, and Nagyfai vineyards in the Eger wine region. They care for their 30-hectare vineyard in an environmentally friendly way, based on manual labor. The winery is located in the former Rác district of Eger, in the historical Verőszala street. Nimród Kovács, the owner of the winery, was born in 1949 in Budapest. He left Hungary in 1971. He completed his graduate studies in the United States and then began his career there as an advertising professional. He later became an internationally recognized businessman in the field of telecommunications and cable television development. In 2005 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary for his work. He retired from multinational business in 2009 and has been working on the development of his Eger cellar ever since.
