Lunch and Learn: Tackling the Climate Crisis Together
Join our next online Lunch & Learn event!
2023 broke climate records, globally and in Hungary and, with an El Niño pattern in place, 2024 is likely to continue this trend.
COP28 made progress towards fast-tracking a just, orderly and equitable energy transition including the need to triple renewable energy deployment by 2030.
In this context, there is an urgent need combined with tremendous opportunities for Climate Action at personal and professional level and together as members of the PMI.
Attendees will be informed of how they can take action at an individual level as well as hearing some new thinking of how we can maximise project success by also looking through a climate crisis lens.
At the PMI European Leadership Institute meeting (Dec 2023 in Lisbon) there was strong interest, across 25 European Chapters, for a cross-chapter Climate Fresk initiative to educate and raise awareness of the Climate Crisis, it would be great to fully involve PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter members in this initiative.
Speaker:
Stuart Thorp PgMP MIET, PMI Belgium Chapter Climate Crisis Lead
Stuart started his career in Telecoms R&D, developing the optoelectronic technology that would go on to be a key enabler for the modern internet. He progressed into a range of Project and Program management roles, across multiple industry sectors including Telecoms, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceuticals, Automotive, Finance. This experience enabled him to gain the PMI Program Management Professional (PgMP) credential. His "Climate Wake Up" happened end 2019 and this led on to his decision to step out of full-time corporate activity since the start of 2023. He is now focusing on applying his professional experience to scale up Climate Action on a personal and professional level and building leverage through professional organisations such as the PMI.
