PMIEF and JA USA Team Up to Support Youth
PMIEF and Junior Achievement USA (JA USA) recently collaborated for several exciting initiatives to help kids learn about project management, economics, and careers.
Video Featuring PMI's President & CEO
JA USA features PMI President & CEO Sunil Prashara in a video for its newly launched youth initiative, How to Understand Economics in Today’s World. This free, online course showcases business leaders in video vignettes as they discuss the effects of the pandemic on their work and how they continue to meet consumer demands throughout it. Learn more here.
Online PM Game
Our 2018 grant to JA USA funded a new, online game to help young people learn PM basics. They explore concepts like scope, risk, and dependencies as they make the world’s biggest pizza and perform an alien autopsy. A short video also highlights PM careers. Find out more here.
Class of 2020 Survey
JA USA recently surveyed U.S. high school seniors about their plans after graduation given the impact of COVID-19. Made possible through PMIEF's support, the survey revealed three in four young people (74%) want to pursue a profession that aligns with project management competencies such as teamwork and problem-solving. Learn more about the JA COVID Grads Survey findings here.
2020 JA Company of the Year Competition
PMIEF was one of three organizations honored to select the 2020 winners of the JA Company Program®, JA USA's flagship initiative that encourages youth to launch their own microenterprise. The country's top 15 teams demonstrated creativity, business acumen, and critical thinking through their design and execution of mini-companies, which included stickers with QR codes linked to mental health resources, portable trauma kits, and an online trivia game that promotes civic engagement. Watch the recording of the competition here.
