CAPM Continuing Certification Requirement (CCR) Update
New Way to Keep CAPM® Certification Active
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® certification holders no longer need to reapply and pay ($225 for members and $300 for non-members) to retake the CAPM exam at the end of their certification cycle. Starting 1 October 2020, CAPM holders will instead start earning PDUs over a shorter certification cycle through our Continuing Certifications Requirement (CCR) program to remain active certification holders, just like what is required of our other certifications.
CAPM holders will only have to earn 15 PDUs over the new three-year certification cycle and pay the certification renewal fee ($60 for members and $150 for non-members).
Improving the Renewal Process
Research shows CAPM holders believe PDUs are a more valuable investment of their time and effort as they allow them to remain current on new developments and trends in project management. This new process is easier and less expensive for CAPM holders as there are many different opportunities for certification holders to earn PDUs.
An added bonus: if CAPM holders have other PMI certifications, they can apply the PDUs they earn for their other certifications to the PDU requirements for their CAPM. They will just have to pay the CAPM renewal fee. So if a CAPM holder also has their PMP, they can count 15 of the 60 PDUs they earn for the PMP toward their CAPM PDU requirement.
Please remember to bookmark this page – as it will be updated on 1 October 2020 with a special offer for active and expired CAPMs.
