10th “Art of Projects” Conference hosted by PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter November 3, 2022.

The 10th jubilee „Art of Projects” English-speaking Conference (https://pmibudapestevents.hu/), hosted by the PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter, will be organized in Budapest, at the Budapest Music Center (03. November 2022).

The conference, after a short interval, will be again a personal meeting with the honourable presence of Tony Appleby, (MBA, CDir, PMP Chair Emeritus, PMI) as invited speaker. This year the outstanding main technical speaker of the conference will be Dr Balázs Zábori, physicist, aerospace engineer and advisor, program manager of the HUNOR – Hungarian to Orbit Astronaut Program (Space Research Department, Centre for Energy Research, Eötvös Loránd Research Network – ELKH, Hungary). Dr Zábori is also manager and lead system engineer of the Lunar Gateway Moon station program as well as of the Mars robotic exploration program in collaboration with ESA and NASA. The Space Research Department of the Centre for Energy Research is responsible for the development and coordination of the scientific and technological content of the HUNOR Program.

In his talk, Zábori will speak about the HUNOR Program. The aim of this program, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, is to carry out world-class Hungarian scientific experiments and tests on the International Space Station by the next Hungarian astronaut, whose mission is expected to be conducted in 2024. In order to take advantage of any remaining spare capacity on the mission and potential participation in other human spaceflight programmes, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Centre for Energy Research have launched a joint call for proposals for human spaceflight projects.

About PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter

PMI Budapest, a local, Hungarian Chapter is an organization that is part of the Project Management Institute (PMI). The chapter was established in 2003 and it works in association legal form according to Hungarian Law. As a member of the Worldwide PMI organization, the PMI Budapest, Hungarian Chapter, has project managers that work as a community of volunteers for improving the quality of the project management profession by increasing the recognition and value of project management certifications, building relationships among local and international project management organizations and improving the international recognition of the profession.

About the HUNOR Hungarian to Orbit Astronaut Program

Based on the decision of the Hungarian Government, the Government Decision on the adoption of the contract preparatory to the Hungarian exploration space mission and the domestic industrial development measures and resource requirements related to the feasibility of the mission was published in the Hungarian Gazette on 30 July 2021. The decision was announced by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the related news can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On 28 October 2021, Orsolya Ferencz, Ministerial Commissioner for Space, announced the launch of the selection procedure for the astronauts and the official name of the programme, which will be known as HUNOR (Hungarian to Orbit). The announcement was preceded by thorough professional preparation to ensure the objectivity of the selection criteria, in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA).
